Patricia Weekly speaking
On August 30th, I spoke with my friend Tony Anderson who is a nurse. we talked outside of the Sant Ann’s Catholic Church. We talked about holidays in America and in Guatemala. We both have some holidays in common, like Christmas, Labor day, Independence’s day. Crhistmas of scorse is in the same date, but Labor day in Guatemala is in May first. indepdendence’s day in my country is in the 15th of September. We share about what we do in holidays. Tony said that Christmas is her favorite holiday because she meet her friends and family. They spend time decorating the houses, going shopping, cooking,etc. For me Christmasn is special because we remember that Jesus was born, and he came to live with us. My parents taugth me that Christmas has a reason, so we should not change that reason. Tony said that she has clear the idea of each holiday, but many people do not know the meaning of holidays. The must important in holidays she said “to take a rest, to share with family and friends”. I learned today that every country has holidays becuse those have a story and a special meaning.
